About the Breeder

My name is Sommer. My love of animals has been with me all my life it helps that my mom always took in unwanted animals and had taught me the right and wrong ways to care for them. We must have adopted out at least 100 dogs during my childhood! My favorite breed has always been the Chihuahua, which is also known as the smallest breed of dog in the world! I've always found them interesting. Their looks, attitude and chemical make-up just a very unique and lovable dog.

My dogs and I live in Ocala, Florida (which is North central) we are pretty much a little over an hour away from both Tampa and Orlando. I produce to the AKC standard ONLY. Both long coats, and short coats, well proportioned, square bodies, small ears, short nose, cobby leg, straight top line, beautiful apple dome, and champion lineage. I guarantee against any health irregularities for 1 year! Most breeders say 2-3 weeks, but I am so confident in my puppies that I will guarantee them into adulthood. I always strive to improve the breed. My puppies are socialized from the time they are born, they live in our "puppy nursery" formerly known as "the guest bedroom" they stay with their moms until they are 6 weeks old, which is the time we start to wean them away from their mothers milk and start them on a mixture of can Purina and Purina One Healthy Puppy Formula puppy food.

I only breed Chihuahuas and we never breed the so called "designer dog." Please read my contract for more information. I will lovingly take back any puppy if for any reason you are unable to care for your puppy, no questions asked.

I love all of my animals. And as I refer to them as "my children". They all go see the vet on a regular schedule and are UTD (up to date) on everything they need. They get plenty of love, attention and snacks that they need. All our dogs do have their basic training "come", "sit", "stay", "down", "outside", "Bedtime" and "No" on top of that they love to dance for treats :) When company comes over to visit, my "kids" think that our guests are there to see them, instead of me. There is never a dull moment with such delight in our house! You will never see a shy dog in my house! Which is another thing I focus on my puppies... I encourage them to play and introduce them to all new situations so that they are not timid and shy when they arrive home with their new families!

I have a little over an acre of fenced in and my "kids" are granted free access to the acreage. All of my animals are crate trained but are only crated at night when it is "bedtime". I believe crate training is a responsible thing for owners to do and it also helps knowing that your pet is not getting into trouble while you are fast asleep. All my animals are given individual love and attention, and this is why I keep my number of dogs low, so that I am able to give them that individual attention.

I personally don't like kennels because I believe if you have enough dogs to make an actual Kennel then there can be absolutely no way you can give each and every dog enough of your time and the socialization skills they need and be able to treat them as a pet. Puppy mills are 10,000 times worse and are only in the dog business for one thing: the money. This is why all my dogs are sold on limited registration! You can have breeding rights if you can provide Vet References and Personal References and I will come out to look at your home and where the dog will be staying, this is not too much to ask if you truly intend to treat the puppy right. Heaven forbid one of my puppies wind up in a puppy mill, I couldn't forgive myself. Puppy millers don't enjoy their animals company or play with them and walk them, they just need them there long enough to breed and make them some quick easy cash, which is WRONG. No animal should be subjected to a puppy mill type of environment.

I do not agree with line breeding, not even distant line breeding (cousin to cousin), animals have enough problems in todays world and don't need our help! If you do distant line breeding than that is your prerogative, but not mine. My dogs breeding is very meticulous and I have a great reputation with references and testimonials! I breed for health and temperament above all else. I try and avoid getting too small of puppies (what the uneducated call "teacups") because this can lead to lots of future problems and I want your dog to be with you for years to come.

Lastly, I hope that I am able to find you your perfect friend and that this tiny joy will bring love and laughter into your home and heart. My #1 priority is the relationship between you and your puppy, let it be healthy, happy and long.
